Dr. Celina Juliano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Davis. She investigates the molecular mechanisms that allow for the constant renewal of stem cells of the essentially “immortal” aquatic animal Hydra.

Her recent paper in Science traces Hydra development cell by cell, providing a molecular map of cell states.
