Dr. Matthias Lutolf is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Bioengineering, and Principal Investigator of the Laboratory of Stem Cell Bioengineering at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland.

His team’s recent paper in Nature reports a new method to generate physiologically relevant organoids by using a 3D bioprinted scaffold to guide the self-organization of intestinal stem cells into functional epithelium.
