Dr. N. Sumru Bayin is a Group Leader at the Gurdon Institute at the University of Cambridge. Her lab studies the mouse cerebellum as a paradigm to identify cell-intrinsic and -extrinsic mechanisms regulating key stem cell behaviors during development, and molecular factors that inhibit effective regeneration in the adult brain or support regeneration in newborns.

Their ultimate goal is to discover how the regenerative potential of the endogenous neural stem cells can be harnessed in human disease.
